Abstract

Nowadays, for democracy to be operating, it is necessary that the Internet adds several perspectives to public discourse, without excluding groups or voices. In opposition to this proposition, systematic attacks on feminist women have occurred in the online environment, which can cause the silencing of these women. We aim to understand how violence against feminist women is configured on the Internet. To this end, we developed an integrative review that systematized and categorized the international scientific productions from 2016 to 2021 published on the portals: CAPES Journals, SCIELO and Web of Science. Studies indicate that most self-declared feminist women who work on the Internet suffer violence. These attacks usually have impacts on women's psychic health, in addition to aiming to intimidate the participation of all women on the Internet, essentially they emerge as a countermovement that aims to delegitimize gender equity movements and to surround the spaces of democratic debate. These attacks can be organized by groups of masculinist men who often benefit from the technological structures of social networks to perpetrate violence.
