Objective: To evaluate drug interactions between NSAIDs and drugs prescribed for type 2 diabetes. Method: An integrative review of articles from the last 25 years in the main databases Science direct, Pub Med, Scielo, Lilacs, Portal Capes was performed and the Intelligent Systematic Review- RAYYAN program was used for the selection of articles. Results: showed that there are harmful interactions and beneficial interactions between these drugs. The studies showed an interaction between metformin and ASA at low doses as it effectively decreased inflammatory factors, blood glucose, decreased insulin resistance and decreased lipogenesis. Using low-dose ibuprofen with metformin was shown to have a good analgesic effect. Conclusion: however, the interactions related to diclofenac proved to be truly harmful, which is relevant due to abusive use, its KATP-activating action interferes with the mechanism of action of sulfonylureas.
