In the group of women of reproductive age, adolescents are included: population between 10 and 19 years old, according to the World Health Organization. This period of life is commonly marked by a series of physical, emotional and behavioral changes. As a result of increasingly early sexual experiences and the lack of use of contraceptive methods, there are high rates of teenage pregnancy. Thus, it becomes essential to know the profile of adolescents who practice abortion, the abortive methods and the assistance received in the post-abortion period. Exploratory-descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, carried out at the Medical Archive and Statistics Service of the Hospital das Clínicas of UFPE. The study sample corresponded to 122 medical records. To carry out the collection, use a secure form. Data were processed and analyzed using the StatisticalPackage for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20.0 program. Most of the adolescents with a history of abortion were between 14 and 17 years old, single union condition. As for the abortion history, 55% of the abortions were induced, with misoprostol being the most used method. Among the abortion complications, the most frequent were hemorrhage and fever. The need to carry out new studies with this population is highlighted, producing other scientific evidence that can further support actions that promote the sexual and reproductive health of adolescents.
