PROFILE OF HYPERTENSIVE PATIENTS IN A MUNICIPALITY OF MATA SUL DE PERNAMBUCO

Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases represent a health problem. Among them, Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH) has high mortality rates, due to its consequences such as: Myocardial Infarction, heart failure, peripheral arterial disease, etc. In a municipality in the southern forest of the state of Pernambuco, in the year 2020, the mortality rate due to chronic diseases registered in the SIM program and in the E-SUS shows 67% of hypertensive patients and 13.47% of these already report other cardiovascular problems. In view of this, this research aims to carry out an investigation of the profile of the hypertensive population in this municipality. For this, a cross-sectional descriptive quantitative research was carried out. The data obtained demonstrate an overview of hypertension in the patients treated, with a higher incidence in females in 67%, aged 60 to 69 years in 64.39% and in relation to occupation in the labor market, retired in 45.11 % of cases. We noticed a relevant rate of hypertensive women, a fact that may be related to the greater demand of women in health services, resulting in the diagnosis. The prevalence of the 60-69 age group and the brown color corroborate with previous studies that demonstrate this vulnerability. Regarding occupation, retirees prevailed, under the possible justification that they have greater difficulties in changing their lifestyle. In this sense, through this study it is possible to outline a profile and develop nursing strategies for health promotion and prevention of complications due to systemic arterial hypertension.
