PSYCHOSIS: A PSYCHOANALYTICAL META-ANALYSIS ON THE BATES MOTEL SERIES

There are several hypotheses that try to interpret the causes of outbreak of psychosis; What is known, however, is that this is a form of psychic suffering, resulting in various symptoms like hallucinations and delusions and that according to Lacan (2008) is related to the failure in the break-up with parental relations. Thus, the present work search, from the psychoanalytic studies, understand the features and the very Constitution of the subject. For that, revisions were made in the search for bibliographic unite theories and understand which aspects of the mother-child relationship can be seen as precursors to the emergence of the disorder. So was American TV series Bates Motel, relating the life history of the characters to the psychoanalytic assumptions. In this way, the research proposes to contribute to personal, social and academic mode, since, despite several studies on the subject, there is still great uncertainty about the social subject, besides, being brought from a cinematic vision, you can reach the company more understandable, understand the context not only of psychosis, as well as the own psychoanalysis. Joining the history of psychosis, with the psychoanalytic theories and the series analyzed, it was noticeable the influence that parental relations have on the psychic Constitution of the subject, however, it is necessary to go beyond seeking to understand that each individual carries with it its own issues and that given this, it was necessary to understand the demand of the Standard characters and Norman Bates.
