Considering the modifications in scientific communication in recent years with the advent of the internet, this study aims to present a systematic review of published articles addressing scientific communication available in cyberspace. We conduct searches using the databases Eric, Scopus, and Scielo, employing the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) protocol as the methodological basis. A total of 22 articles were analyzed through qualitative analysis to identify their main contributions, highlighting which media researchers have been using for scientific communication. The conclusion is that scientific communication occurs across various platforms, but its primary audience remains within the scientific community. There is a need to broaden the discussion on how science can utilize media to increase the visibility of research beyond its peers.
