Psychoanalysis emerged with Freud revealing the unconscious imperatives of neuroses, identifying repression and libido as fundamental characteristics of the psyche. Many psychoanalysts accompanied him and others followed him, expanding visions and multiplying perspectives. This research, of a qualitative nature, of the bibliographical review type, aims to highlight the multiple aspects of Psychoanalysis today, in addition to sexuality, with emphasis, especially, on the spiritual aspects, underlying Psychoanalysis, based on the work of Jacques Lacan. The study showed that, before composing his theory, Lacan dedicated himself to the study of Taoism and Zen Buddhism in the East. The influence of Eastern philosophy, of an eminently spiritual nature, is revealed in his theory, particularly in the concept of Real, Symbolic and Imaginary. Building on Lacan's work, Initiatory Psychoanalysis integrates psychoanalytic knowledge and spirituality into its theoretical framework and clinical management. Using interventions such as transference and interpretation, but also Metaphor and Koans, the initiatory psychoanalyst seeks to provide conditions for the individual to transcend identifications with the Ego, given that such identifications constitute an imprisonment in psychological time, the which both generates fixations on the traumatic past and a life of fantasies regarding the future. Disidentification with the Ego allows one to be fully in the moment, which broadens the perception of reality and promotes integration with pure Consciousness.
