This study aims to understand the dynamics presented in the records of accidents at work in the sugar and alcohol sector in Alagoas between the years 2012 to 2021. For its realization, the investigation undertaken here makes use of secondary data collected from the Smartlab Platform and official databases of government linked to the formal labor market. The results indicate that the sugar and alcohol sector in Alagoas leads the state accident ranking and the largest share of registered accidents are located in the agricultural area of the production complex. A reduction in accident records was also seen over the period and this event can be related to: improvements in working conditions, increased underreporting and reduction of the workforce. This investigation is expected to contribute to the production of knowledge about a sector that has a history of harm to workers' health.
