This research aims to propose the use of active methodologies as a tool in the teaching and learning process. In order to go deeper into the subject, an analysis was carried out in the online databases of the guiding documents (BNCC and PCNs) (MEC websites), scientific articles (scielo, sciesedirect and academic google) and books published in the area for a broader knowledge as well as a survey with 39 elementary school teachers II, from public and private schools in the municipality of São Luís from January to August 2021, using a validated google forms questionnaire sent via digital platforms in order to know the difficulties and demands regarding the teaching of microbiology. After the documentary analysis, the microbiology contents of the Elementary School II series were selected and the questionnaire showed that the teachers are of working age working 40 hours a week in both shifts. Of the interviewees, 97% studied microbiology in graduation, however, 67% do not teach practical classes, 10% do not know the active methodologies and 18% do not use them in their classes. With this diagnosis, a booklet was elaborated, with content and techniques of active methodologies that can be used as complementary material in the teaching of microbiology. The booklet was prepared in the Canva software and validated by 22 judges with a global CVI of 0.97. Therefore, it is expected that this booklet will be a useful tool for elementary school II teachers, making Microbiology Teaching more dynamic for Basic Education students.
