Abstract

Population growth in recent years has accelerated the urbanization process in the world, being an important factor in changing air quality, especially indoors. Presented as predisposing factors, the increase in temperature, humidity and microorganisms cause the appearance of skin, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. This work aims to: evaluate the quality of the indoor environment in the Aquatic Therapy area in a School Clinic in São Luís-MA. For this, the collection of microorganisms was carried out using the deposition technique where petri plates containing Agar Sabouraud (SAB) and Eosin Methylene Blue (EMB) culture medium were placed at 3 different points for a period of 30 minutes, after exposure to the same were incubated at 37ºC for 72hrs. The colonies were quantified and purified and stripped by streaks were performed and the plates were taken to an oven at 27°C for 48hrs. To identify the microorganisms, the isolated colonies were observed the morphology and arrangement of the cells. The slides were analyzed under a microscope, with a 40 and 100x objective. To evaluate the temperature and humidity, a Digital Thermo-Hygrometer was used. The microbial quantity when compared to the legislation is within the required standards in terms of quantification. The physical parameters do not comply with the standards according to the legislation of the points. Even within the parameters, the appearance of bacteria and fungi must be taken into account, as this is a rehabilitation clinic with patients undergoing rehabilitation, making strategies and interventions necessary.
