The blacks brought in their soul the resistance and in their skin the color that marked and marks the social, political and economic division of the country. Faced with the demographic disaster caused by the encounter between colonizers and Native Americans, it was up to the blacks to do penance to exploit the terra brasilis in favor of the mercantile interests of the Portuguese crown through hard work based on violence, exclusion and prejudice. Through legislative changes, the issue of identity and representation gives new contours to the notion of social justice, which was previously focused only on economic aspects. In addition to marginalized social groups, we have the need for cultural reparation that is their right, but which now gains materiality through policies within educational institutions through affirmative action.
