Reflecting on the initial training of teachers is something quite intense in the literature and, seeking to contribute to such research, this work presents an investigation into the elements of Meaningful Learning (AS) present in the Course Pedagogical Project (PPC) of the Degree in Chemistry from a Professional and Technological Education (PTE) institution in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The research is characterized as basic in nature, qualitative approach and in-depth descriptive investigation. With the content analysis according to Bardin (2002) of the document under study, we noticed the presence of elements that make reference to the eight approaches to AS theory presented in the text by Moreira (2011), highlighting the need for teacher training that directs comprehensive training of students, use of alternative methodologies in the teaching process, a flexible and interdisciplinary curriculum, students motivated to learn, in addition to considering social experiences and knowledge arising from experience so that, from this, interaction can occur as knowledge scientific aiming at the meaning of the trained concepts.
