Abstract

This article analyzes the state of current knowledge within the scope of master's and doctoral programs in Brazil regarding the design of educational products applied to the teaching of mineralogy and petrography. The methodology was based on the use of the following search descriptors applied in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations: “gem identification”, “rock identification”, “geoscience teaching”, “teaching rock identification” , “software for teaching gem identification”, “software for teaching rock identification”, “software for teaching mineralogy”, “software for teaching petrography”, “teaching mineralogy”, “teaching petrography”, “ mining game” and “game in teaching”. The time frame that defines the search period for work ranged from December 2023 to January 2024. At the end of the study, it was possible to verify the small amount of educational products in the aforementioned area, and in parallel to this, the analyzed works presented a great variation regarding their proposals, the basis of the pedagogical theories used and the technological resource used to construction of these artifacts.
