The objective of this study is to analyze the relationships between organizational citizenship behaviors and work-family conflict from the perspective of public servants who work in federal educational institutions in Rio Grande do Sul. The methodology adopted was qualitative in nature, involving 13 semi-structured interviews carried out online, with data saturation as the selection criterion. The interviews were theoretically based on studies by Bastos, Siqueira and Gomes (2014), Greenhaus and Beutell (1985) and Carlson, Kacmar and Williams (2000), and were recorded and transcribed verbatim. The ATLAS.ti Version 9 software was used to assist in organizing the codes and forming the categories. Data analysis followed the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin (2016). The results indicated that assistance and cooperation between colleagues, sharing of ideas, recognition of work, positive dissemination of the organizational image and institutional pride are essential for employees to feel welcomed, resulting in the reduction of work-family conflict. This investigation provides significant advances in the scientific and organizational field, by offering an in-depth understanding of employees' perceptions in the work context.
