The aim of this experience report is to describe the main actions and reflections of a curricular internship for an undergraduate course in Psychology, carried out in a public high school located in a municipality in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, from the perspective of School and Educational Psychology (SEP). During the internship, students were welcomed individually, reflection groups were held, as well as a scientific initiation project with students in the second year of high school. The school's initial demand was the students' recurring anxiety attacks. It was found that, due to the high demand for individual support, the groups were essential for the attention given to the students and help with their emotional issues, which contributed to the school relationships of each participant and, consequently, to the educational processes. As a result, the scientific initiation project enabled students to improve their critical and reflective thinking, as well as opening up space for a new understanding of the school's practice of SEP. The conclusion is that the internship was important in causing small cracks in the institutionalized functioning of the school, opening up the way for a new approach to SEP.
