Art plays a fundamental role in society, going beyond mere aesthetic expression to become a powerful mechanism of communication, resistance, and social transformation. Throughout history, different artistic manifestations have been used as instruments of contestation and cultural affirmation, giving voice to marginalized groups and enabling the re-signification of identities. In this sense, this study investigates how art can contribute to building a sense of belonging among historically excluded communities—shaped by a legacy of oppression and prejudice—functioning as a means of resistance against social inequalities. The research, which adopts a qualitative approach and is based on a bibliographic review, analyzes the impact of different artistic expressions—such as music, dance, and graffiti—on the struggle for recognition and social justice. The results indicate that such cultural manifestations strengthen the fight for recognition and justice, promoting the representation of these populations. They not only give visibility to minority groups but also contribute to the construction of collective identity and the promotion of social equity. By allowing individuals and communities to reaffirm their narratives and claim spaces in society, art establishes itself as an essential element in the fight against marginalization and prejudice. Thus, it is concluded that art not only breaks down the barriers imposed by social exclusion but also fosters the appreciation of diversity and the symbolic reconstruction of social relations. Its impact goes beyond the cultural aspect, assuming a crucial sociopolitical role in the pursuit of a more just and egalitarian society.
