The training promoted by the Multiprofessional Residency in Family Health in primary health care is based on interdisciplinary action and requires interprofessional collaboration. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the dynamics of the work process in health teams, considering the interaction between Primary Health Care workers and residents in a municipality in the interior of Bahia. This is a qualitative study carried out between July and September 2023 with eleven primary care professionals, through semi-structured interviews and field diary records. Data analysis was conducted using thematic content analysis, from which two categories of analysis emerged. The research revealed that interprofessional meetings are crucial tools for collaboration, planning and definition of actions, with residents' leadership in this process being notable. It was observed that the planning carried out by residents is valued and maintained, even in their absence, which promotes greater coordination and participation of professionals in the execution of actions. In this way, the study points out the need to institutionalize permanent education while recognizing how residency encourages critical and reflective thinking, contributing to personal and professional development, in addition to strengthening health services in the face of new perspectives on care in health.
