To integrate theory and practice, service and teaching, the methodological proposals used in the training of health professionals have been rethought. In the health area, nursing is among the undergraduate courses that have contemplated these paradigmatic changes by determining, in accordance with the National Curricular Guidelines, that universities encourage the articulation between teaching, research and assistance, requesting innovation and quality of the political-pedagogical project. The objective of this study is to describe strategies for strengthening learning in health education in the undergraduate nursing course, using the Maguerez Arc, problem-based learning. This is an intervention research conducted with 12 students from a university in the northern region of Ceará, Brazil. The results of the study are the product of the application of the five stages of the arc. The group's routine was observed, the group's problems were identified; the participants consulted the literature to find answers to the questions; possible solutions to the identified problems were developed; and based on the proposed solutions, the participants carried out an extension activity with the community. The Maguerez Arc proved to be an excellent strategy for the development of critical, reflective, and creative learning by building knowledge collectively.
