The text on the screen aims to reflect on the theoretical and methodological contribution of the (auto)biographical method to research with teachers of Professional and Technological Education (PTE). It is a qualitative study of education with a bibliographical approach. The discussion draws on theories that inscribe the conceptual assumptions of the PTE and the reflections of the life story as a methodology. The study highlights the contribution of this method lies in elucidating teachers’ voices, whose memories and narratives become analytical content that can reveal the teachers’ perspective on the conceptual bases of PTE and the ways that they conceive and mobilize their knowledge; how they understand the teaching role, the research, and the outreach role throughout the student’s education; and how is the process of training and teaching in the context of the PTE. The writing concludes with the presentation of some conceptions of the (auto)biographical method for research involving teachers as subjects of investigation, such as the validation of the professional potentialities, and the identification of training gaps in the context of PTE.
